Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our fast-paced cardiology practice. This role involves a combination of hospital-based care and outpatient clinical responsibilities, with a strong emphasis on patient follow-up, test result management, and interdisciplinary communication.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, clinically confident in cardiology, and comfortable managing a high patient volume while maintaining excellent patient care and communication.
Key Responsibilities:
Hospital Responsibilities:
- Provide inpatient cardiology coverage, including daily rounding and patient assessments.
- Collaborate with cardiologists, hospitalists, nursing staff, and allied health professionals.
- Assist with care planning, discharge planning, and follow-up coordination.
Clinical & Administrative Responsibilities:
- Review and screen surgical and procedural charts for completeness and clinical appropriateness.
- Evaluate and manage patients with abnormal diagnostic tests (e.g., EKGs, stress tests, echocardiograms, labs, Holter monitors).
- Perform patient call-backs and follow-ups, including medication adjustments and symptom management.
- Document all patient encounters accurately in the electronic medical record eCW.
Qualifications:
- Current Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in Arizona.
- National board certification (AANP or ANCC).
- Cardiology experience preferred (hospital or outpatient setting).
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to manage complex cardiac patients.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
